National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has berated the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for leading the path to digitizing Ghana, saying he is hiding behind technology to cover up his inability to manage the Ghanaian economy properly.

According to him, as head of the Economic Management Team, the vice president should be fixated at ensuring a robust economy, a stable local currency and inflation at acceptable limits, adding that his involvement in pushing the technology agenda in the country is a digression from his core mandate.

Mr. Gyamfi who was speaking on Accra based okay Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com, opined that the vice president must concentrate on fixing the economy, and stop venturing into areas he has no expertise in.

‘’The vice president is the head of the Economic Management Team and his core mandate is to see to the management of the economy. He has no business venturing into the arena of technology. He is only trying to cover up his shame and of the poor management of the economy’’ he said.

The vice president has been at the forefront of leading the charge for economic transformation using technology in the country.

He championed the automation of the ports through the single window initiative, the Ghana Post GPS, the National Identification Authority’s Ghana card and the recent drones for medical delivery project.
