African Games 2023: Ghana beats Egypt to win rights to host games in 2023-Ministry of Youth and Sports announces

Ghana will be hosting the 13th edition of the African Games in 2023 after the country beat Egypt to win the rights to host the event

A statement issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and signed by the Deputy Minister, Curtis Perry Kwabla Okudzeto said the monumental achievement was declared at the 3rd Specialized Technical Committee on Youth, Culture and Sports (STC-YCS) forum of the African Union Commission Ministers’ Session in Algiers on Thursday October 25, 2018.

‘’The Ministry believes this is a unique opportunity to rewrite the scripts of Ghana sports for the next century’’ the statement added.

It continued ‘’ the Ministry is committed to providing facilities for Ghana to host a successful tournament, as the continental sports event will be staged in Accra, Kumasi and the Cape Coast stadia.
