The Ministry of Health has ordered heads of all public health training institutions to send away all fee-owing students.
A notice issued by the Ministry under the hand of the deputy Minister for Health Tina Mensah and dated December, 28, 2018 raised concern about the inability of some students to pay their school fees.
“It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Health that some students are not paying their school fees which are used for running of the schools and the Ministry takes a serious view to this matter” she said in the notice.
The Ministry argues that the school fees is what is being used to run the various public health training colleges and that the heads of the colleges should not to entertain any student who does not pay up to 80 percent of his or her school fees.
“In view of that, the Ministry will like all Principals of the Public Health Training Colleges to notify all students that henceforth ,students will be required to pay 80% of their fees at the beginning of the Academic year” the notice added.
