Outspoken opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) member and son of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has once again berated former president John Dramani Mahama, accusing him of failing to tackle and fight corruption within his government when he was vice president and president.
Dr. Sekou Nkrumah says there is nothing extraordinary that Mr. Mahama is coming back to do since he had every single opportunity to make a difference and spark change, but squandered that chance to corruption, nepotism and incompetence.
According to him, Mr. Mahama failed to shine when the opportunity was offered him by the generality of the Ghanaian people, adding that he was also unable to change, improve and transform the quality of life of the ordinary Ghanaian.
He said ‘’you served the rest of Professor Mills’ term, plus yours. That is long enough, so I don’t get the obsession with power’’
He added ‘’and it is not that you performed well, you could not address corruption within your government and the quality of life for the ordinary Ghanaian did not change for the better. So please drop out of the NDC presidential race and enjoy your political retirement.’’
