ANNAGRACE Foundation donates to Police Hospital-promises more support

ANNAGRACE Foundation a charity organization with bias towards ending road accidents in the country has donated 10 brand news state-of-the-art wheelchairs to the Police Hospital in Accra.

‘’Politicians, civil society, the Ghana Road Safety Commission and various interest groups have continued to bemoan these accidents yet it is not abating. We seem to bury our efforts with our beloved ones and quickly forget those maimed as a result of the carnage’’ said Mr. Joseph Kwame Boahene, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ANNAGRACE during the presentation.

Mr. Boahene further stated that ‘’The AnnaGrace Foundation, with branches in the United Kingdom, the United States and headquartered in Ghana, is purposed to take up the challenge. The Foundation will work with like- minded stakeholders to deepen the efforts towards identification of the causes, education and awareness creation, prevention, strengthening of legislation, monitoring and evaluation of efforts, targeting and support services’’.

He explained that the Foundation had taken cognizance of the challenges being faced by the various health facilities in terms of appropriate equipment to cater for the needs of patients, hence the donation.

‘’The recent accident at Kintanpo in which several innocent citizens lost their lives and others get maimed is too fresh in our minds. The AnnaGrace Foundation noting that our various hospitals are inadequately equipped when it comes to support services for victims have today decided to donate 10 state- of- the- art wheelchairs to the Police Hospital. The first in a series of donations that would be made to various hospitals across the country’’ Mr. Boahene added.

He intimated the desire of the Foundation to do all it can with the support of donors and benefactors to change the narrative as far road accidents in the country is concerned.

‘’In this quest, the support of various civil society groups, Government and all other stakeholders will be most welcome. We take this opportunity to express on behalf of all who have supported this worthy cause, our thanks and deepest appreciation for their support and encouragement and look forward to even greater collaboration, partnership and  support in the years ahead’’ he added.
