The management, technical team and players of Kalibi Sporting Club have expressed profound appreciation to the Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) for the warm reception, encouragement and inspiration offered to the team during a courtesy call at his office in Tema.
During the interaction, the Director General admonished the players, technical officials and management of Kalibi Sporting Club to remain focused, determined and hopeful as they pursue their sporting ambitions. He encouraged the team to believe in their abilities and continue working hard towards achieving their dream of reaching the highest levels of Ghana football.
In a special message to the players, he emphasized the importance of education alongside their football careers. He advised them to take their academic development seriously and prepare themselves by exploring other avenues that can support their future beyond football.
The Director General further counselled the young players to maintain discipline and make responsible choices in life. He urged them to avoid distractions, particularly drugs, alcoholism and other activities that may affect their progress, stressing that discipline, commitment and a healthy lifestyle are essential ingredients for success in professional football.
He assured Kalibi Sporting Club of his readiness to support the team in whatever capacity possible and expressed his willingness to visit the team’s training sessions or attend a match whenever he finds himself in the Upper West Region.
In response, the captain, head coach and President of Kalibi Sporting Club expressed their sincere gratitude to the Director General for his hospitality, words of encouragement and fatherly guidance. They also appealed for support towards the acquisition of a team bus, which they believe will significantly enhance the club’s mobility and strengthen their campaign towards bringing Premier League football to the Upper West Region.

The players were visibly excited and inspired by the experience, describing the visit as a memorable and educational moment. Kalibi Sporting Club is deeply grateful not only for the Director General’s encouraging words and commitment to supporting the team, but also for creating this rare opportunity for young people from the Upper West Region.
