Legal Practitioner and Politician, Mr. Sulley Sambian has descended on former President John Dramani Mahama for peddling untruths with regards to IMF COVID-19 relief to some countries on the African continent.
BestNewsGH.com reports the North East Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), as positing that in as much as he dislikes it when the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia calls the former president the ‘incompetent one’, the sad reality is that he (Mr. Mahama) walks in the reality of that description.
The NDC 2020 Presidential candidate during his digital conversation on healthcare and infrastructure on Thursday, April 30, 2020 posited that Ghana had benefited from an IMF intervention on COVID-19.
He said Ghana has benefited from IMF’s Emergency Financial Assistance scheme.
He further stated that ‘’it is difficult to fathom the inaction of government in this respect considering the access it had to almost GHC8 billion within weeks of the pandemic.’’
But Lawyer Sulley Sambian says the former president was ill informed on the matter and peddled untruths in his presentation.
According to him, the former president shot himself in the foot with his comments.
He averred that the former president must be measured, take his time and thread cautiously when next, he wants to engage his audience on topics he is ill informed about.
