Wyclef looking for Accra Academy rapper whose video was shared by Sarkodie

A student of Accra Academy with the Instagram handle @f_a_square will soon be counting his blessings as a video clip which captured him showing his rap prowess and proving his mettle has caught the attention of Wyclef Jean’s Carnival World Music Group.

The video was shared by many, including Ghanaian presenter with Beats FM Commanda Ansah, and Sarkodie, who fell in love with the talent as he reminisced how he spat such bars back in the day.

“Ose ‘moanom abula munsuo aky3 mongyae na monbra academy na monb3 nom pipe’. I know old me would definitely say this lool!!! God bless the young champ,” remarked Sarkodie.

Barely a day afterwards and Wyclef Jean, a Haitian, has shown interest in the young rapper. The Grammy award winner in a tweet said: “Carnival world music Group is looking for this kid he got talent !!!!!”

Few days ago, Forbes reported that Wyclef’s Carnival World Music Group had raised $25 million in capital funding.

Carnival World Music Group aims to ensure that artists in developing countries have publishing and distribution support they need.

Wyclef tells Forbes: “the demand for music from Africa and other developing regions is growing and these creatives deserve to be part of the international marketplace. There is a need for them to have open access to global publishing and distribution options that protect their rights and ensure that they are fairly paid. This initiative not only introduces and launches new talent but helps creatives around the world thrive in their careers.”
