‘’We need a very experienced person who has a track record and has been tried and tested and can deliver victory to the NDC in the 2020 elections. And that person is no other than Professor Joshua Alabi. We are not playing the tribal card, but we think that this is his moment to take the NDC to the Promised Land’’

Those are the words of the one of the leaders of the Ga Dangbe youth for Professor Joshua Alabi who believe delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) must not look beyond Professor Joshua Alabi, one of the presidential candidate hopefuls of the NDC during the February 23, 2019 presidential primaries of the party.

According to the group, their call should not be misconstrued as engaging in tribal politics or playing the political card, but that the best person to lead the NDC into the 2020 elections is their kinsman.

The group believes the former Vice Chancellor of the University for Professional Studies has distinguished and acquitted himself creditably in public office and will make a very good leader for the NDC, going into the 2020 elections.

Stating more reasons to buttress their point, the youth leader said ‘’we have NDC strongholds like the Volta Region, Central Region and the Northern Region and they have all had presidential candidates. We in the Greater Accra Region have never had a presidential candidate before and this is our time. And we are saying this because the grounds is good for him’’.
