Authorities of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly have sent a strong warning to some youth in the city who are engaged in weed smoking and taking to setting up weed smoking camps in the Aboabo forest area.

The newly appointed Tamale Metropolitan Assembly taskforce Commander Lukeman Zakaria and his team yesterday Thursday, December 20, 2018, paid unannounced visitations to some of the weed smoking youth groups in the Aboabo forest reserve to engage them and make efforts to reintegrate them into the community.

These youths were earlier in the year removed from the forest with various opportunities offered them to reintegrate into the community via the Neat Ghana programme.

Some grabbed the opportunities while others abandoned the apprenticeship and went back to their old ways of smoking weed and engaging in all manner of criminal and illegal activities.

The taskforce Commander engaged with them and warned of dire consequences for their future should they refuse the offer being granted them to lead decent and meaningful lives.

He told them to leave the forest by close of next week and offered to re-engage them with NEAT GHANA.
