‘’We prefer gentle Asenso Boakye to dangerous Okyem Aboagye’’-Bantama NDC Chairman

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region is busily rooting for Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso Boakye to be elected as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for that constituency.

The NDC Constituency Chairman for Bantama Constituency, David Hedezi according BestNewsGH.com sources say the current Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Daniel Okyem Aboagye is a more dangerous nut to crack than the deputy Chief of Staff who they say is gentle and diplomatic.

He said “Hon. Okyem has good human relations and is more popular in the constituency as compared to Mr. Asenso. So it is our (NDC) wish that Asenso leads the NPP in contesting for the parliamentary seat in the 2020 general elections”.

Mr. Hedezi’s call comes on the back of reports that Mr. Okyem Aboagye went kneeling before the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi to be allowed to contest the seat unopposed in the 2020 elections.

Reports have it that the 2nd National Vice Chairman of the NPP in the company of some party leaders stormed the Cultural Centre in Kumasi and met delegates to fashion out modalities that will ensure an incident-free party primaries in the region.

The NDC Bantama Chairman is reported to have posited that the NPP has dissapointed the Bantama constituency and needs to be kicked out in the 2020 elections.
