Fan Milk vendors in the country have called the bluff of Fan Milk Ghana Limited and told it off that they know their rights and will not tolerate management of the company looking down on them anymore.

The Workers said they are well educated and are only resorting to vending the Fan Milk product because of the unemployment situation in the country.

‘’We are three stakeholders in this business, the company, the agents and we the vendors. But they have consistently looked down on us and have never factored us in, in any decision making process. They have never taken our views or inputs on any policy in the company’’ they argued.

On Friday October 5 2018, the Greater Accra Fan Milk Vendors Association took to the streets of the capital in a demonstration aimed at registering their displeasure at management of the company for reducing the commission they earn on each product they sell from 20 pesewas to 17 pesewas.

They also accuse the management of refusing to pay Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contributions on their behalf, plus other life insurance covers, arguing that they risk their lives on a daily basis on the streets to sell the products.

‘’Vendors have no insurance scheme or SSNIT covering them. When a car knocks you down, it is your own cost. The company doesn’t know you and we have nothing like a pension scheme too’’ they said in a petition they submitted to management of the company during last Friday’s demonstration.
