The Chameleon car, Toyota Corolla with registration number, GG 991-18, which was used to torment residents of the port city and its environs for five days has finally been unveiled.
The exposure which climaxed its use for nefarious activities was in the early hours of Thursday 18th July 2019 on the Tema-Accra motorway.
As to who halted the chameleon car in its track is a mystery to security operatives, all the same she was abandoned on the expressway.
Investigation conducted by the Chronicle in Tema disclosed that police on routine patrols on the motorway found a black Toyota Corolla with registration number GG 991-18 without any attendant and a search conducted in the car revealed some spent 9mm ammunition shells, presupposing that the occupants might have engaged an unknown group in a gun battle, leading to it abandonment.
A careful observation exposed the newly sprayed black colour with no number plate fitted to the rear unlike the front.

The front right temporary tyre popularly known as ‘take me home’ are among few indications that gave it out as the Toyota Corolla being used in dastardly acts hence being labeled the’chameleon car’.
A dependable and highly placed police source who spoke to the Chronicle on condition of anonymity stated that, with the tormentor in its grips, checks are ongoing to establish the true ownership.
The chameleon car, then blue in colour, was on Saturday 13th July 2019 used by unidentified gunmen during the shooting of Number 41808, General Sergeant Hope Atsu Sekeh, a dispatch rider attached to the security detail of former President, Flt-Lt Jerry John Rawlings.
The following Sunday 14th July 2019, occupants of the same car stormed the Tema Motorway Roundabout Shell Filling Station and at gunpoint robbed the station of an unspecified amount of money and other properties.
