Registration of vehicles would be done in just one hour or even less, thanks to new innovations being employed by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is set to begin electronic vehicle registration this month, January 2019, to help transform the way vehicles are registered and set new benchmarks in the sector.

When the project is fully deployed and optimised, a vehicle could get registered within an hour.

The authority is also partnering the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to implement national standards on vehicle emission.

That, according to authority, is necessary to reduce air pollution, ill health and other respiratory problems.
