A three acre farm has been torched and razed to the ground in Loho, near Wa in the Upper West Region.

The farm, BestNewsGH.com is informed was used for the cultivation of various crops  including cashew, mango, pawpaw, mahogany seedlings, aloe vera and cacia.

Speaking to BestNewsGH.com on the incident, owner of the Farm, Prince Daud Katouri who is also a presenter at Wa based Radio Progress said he visited the farm, which also holds a farm house early today, Tuesday, January 14, 2019 only to be met with the unfortunate spectacle.

According to Mr. Katouri, he did all within his power to put off the inferno which was burning with so much fierceness and power, to no avail.

‘’I came into the yard to meet the already high fire in the plantation. I tried but could not control the fire until it torched the hut. Bringing to ashes boxes of assorted beads, beaded sandals, flower vases and many other valuables’’

He said he suspects some mischievous people may have carried out the dastardly act.

A visibly sad Mr. Katouri giving a background to the establishment of the farm averred that the farm was established some fifteen years ago even before the area became a residential area.

‘’It has been protected from burning or tree cutting all these years because we provide horticultural services to the people of the region and beyond. Recently the centre became active in providing the youth skills in beaded necklaces and sandals. We have landscaped notable hotels and school parks in the Wa municipality’’ he added.

As of the time of filing this report, Mr. Katouri was on his way to officially lodge a complaint with the police in Wa.
