UWR: Daughters of Upper West to the rescue of Ullo Senior High School; donates items and cash to support students

A Not for Profit Organisation, Daughters of Upper West has gone to the rescue of the Ullo Senior High School in the Jirapa District of the Upper West Region, through a donation of various items and cash.

This was during an outreach programme to the school on Friday, January 17, 2020 under the theme ‘Unleashing your inner Potential’.

The items included 63 cartons of assorted drinks, 22 boxes of sanitary pads among others.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Daughters of Upper West, Madam Hasana Mahama in a short speech opined that the vision of the organization is to rally support for children in the Upper West region to enable them maximize their potentials, talents and to help them attain higher heights.

As a way of sustaining its operations, Madam Mahama said the organization was tasking the generality of its membership to make a modest monthly contribution of 10 Ghana Cedis each, to help fund support for Brilliant but Needy girls in the region.

BestNewsGH.com reports the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund, Madam Ayisha Salifu who was the special guest of honour, as admonishing the students to take their studies seriously in order to become responsible adults in future.

The Zongo Development Fund Deputy CEO donated an amount of 1,500 Ghana Cedis, 1,000 for the girls and 500 for the boys as away of motivating them to form groups through which they can advocate for a better life.

Madam Ayisha Salifu also donated an amount of 1,000 Ghana Cedis to Daughters of Upper West to help them fund their activities.

Authorities of the school expressed their profound gratitude to the Organisation for the support.

They said they were optimistic that Daughters of Upper West will motivate and inspire the students, who are the future leaders of the country, to work towards achieving their dreams and aspirations.

Naa Alhaji Seidu Amadu Baburonon II Paramount chief of Ullo traditional area as well as some  staff of Ullo Senior High School were present at the event.
