Tertiary institutions have a crucial role to play towards the realization of a Ghana Beyond Aid-VP Bawumia

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has underscored the crucial role tertiary institutions in the country can play to enable the country achieve the vision of a Ghana Beyond Aid.

According to him, there are three (3) things that are expected from tertiary institutions in achieving President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government vision of “Ghana Beyond Aid”.

Dr. Bawumia who was the Guest Speaker at the 10th graduation ceremony of Pentecost University College (PUC), today Saturday December 15, 2018 said the first expectation is that tertiary institutions have the fundamental mandate of educating the next generation of the country’s human resource if Ghana is to make this vision a reality.

‘’Second, these institutions should help build the country’s knowledge base through basic and applied research. Third, tertiary institutions must help build a good society by inculcating core value systems in our conduct as individuals, as community members and leaders’’ he noted further.

While congratulating the class of 2018 of the University, the Vice president assured that government will continue to provide the necessary resources to the country’s tertiary institutions to expand infrastructure.
