Struggle for autonomy: Cabinet approves autonomy status for Wa and Navrongo campuses of UDS

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced cabinet’s approval for the Wa and Navrongo campuses of the University for Development Studies to become autonomous Universities.

This will become effective after parliament has completed the necessary processes.

The president made the announcement while attending the 25th anniversary celebration of the University for Development Studies in Tamale today Saturday, 10th November, 2018.

President Akufo-Addo also participated in a joint Members of Parliament and Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives workshop organised by the leadership of Parliament.

The president called for the initiation and development of strong bonds of co-operation, so as to help generate dignified and productive lives for the Ghanaian people.
