Rwanda: President Kagame orders delivery of free food to citizens amid COVID-19 lockdown

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda has ordered the delivery of food and other essential, free of charge to residents of the country amid the lockdown, which has been necessitated by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president has been strategizing with the Military and other organizations in the country on how to get food to every home in the country, which has been under a total lockdown when she recorded a few positive cases of the virus.

BestNewsGH.com is informed the food which is supposed to be delivered into the homes of every Rwandan is free and includes provisions, fruits, bags of rice and some beverages among others.

Apart from the free food, BestNewsGH.com can report that the President has also announced packages such as free electricity among others.

The President said in order to ensure equitable distribution of the food items, officials will move from house to house to conduct equal distributions under his direct supervision to enable free and fair distribution and to free the exercise from favoritism.
