Reflections of life by Danaa Samad

The streams of life continue to flow

We live a day at a time

Through mercy and grace

In our mind’s eye

Every step is but a mystery

Every moment is gift onto our souls

Every second is priceless in value

And limited in myth and in reality

The baobab leaves in the West rustle as the owls coo at night

In awe, we behold the twilight upon the pyramids of the North

As the rainbows of the South make the sky a delight to the eye And the safaris a relish on adventure.

Gigantic Kilimanjaro continues to echo its towering might to the plateaus that plague the East.

In the glow of appreciation of life and nature

We are mortals and we are kindred spirits

Enjoined by love and forces of divinity,we live.

As we live,we are are held in balance

The fodder of life nourishes our souls as we live

So that others might live.

As we tug along the steps of mystery

like army ants towards the ant hills of abode

Uncertainty rules but faith urges us each step of the way

On different days we came and on different days we will return

As we all tug along towards the abode of no return

Why walk proudly on the face of earth as if we can rival the mountains in stature ?

Why gloat over everything when the life in us is an offering?

Why procrastinate when the step of the morrow is not ours to set in motion?

Why curse and invoke wrath when our lives and this life are simply the grand design of the Divine artist of creation?

We are kindred spirits

Our ancestors have been long gone

The dust on the footprints of time will settle

Until then LIFE simply happens .
