The Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly Iddrisu Musah Superior has asked party members who make demands on politicians to be moderate in their demands as they don’t manufacture money.
According to Mr. Superior, the politicians get paid by the Government of Ghana just like any other public or civil servant and cannot be pressured to steal for party members and supporters.
‘’Politicians appointed into government roles don’t “manufacture” money. They get paid by GoG as any other public/civil servant. If you need financial help from them to address a personal challenge, be moderate in your request’’ he wrote.
He added ‘’remember that, on daily basis, numerous persons seek financial support from their local MPs, MMDCEs, etc to fix their personal problems. Do not encourage politicians to “steal” public funds; your money. What you can do forcefully and rightfully is to request and insist of quality leadership, efficient service delivery and infrastructure development’’.
