A lovely photo of President Nana Addo Dakwa Akufo-Addo and veteran Journalist, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako doing the elbow greeting has emerged and gone viral on social media.

BestNewsGH.com sources indicate the picture was taken by the duo to mark the 25th anniversary of the Kume preko demonstration.

This website is informed that the President visited the residence of Council of State Member, Nii Adjiri Blankson where several other prominent personalities who played various roles and took part in the Kume Preko demonstration converged for the anniversary.

The two are well known for their roles in the Kume preko demonstration which was held in 1995.

Notable among those who were present at the meeting and met with the president was Ace Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.

Kume Preko was the name given to an anti-government demonstration that occurred in Ghana in 1995, led by Nana Akufo-Addo. The protest took place in opposition to the Value Added Tax (VAT) initiative which was introduced under the Jerry John Rawlings administration. It is said to have been one of the biggest protests ever organised in the country, with an estimated 100,000 people participating.[

The demonstration was initially billed as a peaceful protest but quickly became violent when unidentified assailants shot live bullets into the crowd resulting in the deaths of a few protestors.
