In 1965 when there were no traffic lights in Accra, Ghana’s capital city, motorists and pedestrians seemed very well controlled and traffic was seamless and fluid on the streets.

But fast forward to 2019, the situation that characterize traffic in Accra is that of chaos almost everyday.

In the event that there is power outage and the traffic lights are not working,  the situation is even more pronounced and precarious.

The question that is begging for answers is what really went wrong and what accounts for the lawlessness on the streets with regards to traffic regulations.
