Phase 1 of UESD campus project in Somanya 60 percent complete, Napo woos investors

Construction works on the campus of the University of Environmental and Sustainable Development (UESD) in Somanya are 60 percent complete.

The Minister for Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh who paid a day’s working visit to the project site expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and impressed upon the contractors to do a good job.

‘’The UESD, when completed and open, will offer applicants the opportunity to be trained in various disciplines such as Agroforestry, Renewable Energy and others which ultimately seek to make the best out of our resources while preserving the environment for safe habitation’’ the Minister noted.

The Minister indicated his anxiety for the project to be completed on time to enable admissions into the University begin and to fully operationalize the school.

Napo as the Education Minister is popularly known, discussed the scope of works for the second phase of the project with the consultant and the contractors.

Located in a fairly new area in the Somanya municipality, the Minister averred that the potential for private investments in the area is immense saying ‘’now is the time for investors to tap into this potential for the general development of the school and its immediate environs’’.
