The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has stated emphatically that there is no public school in the country that is conducting examinations online.

His comments contradict measures instituted by some public schools including the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) who have both issued guidelines and notified students about the commencement of end of second semester examinations on May 25  and May 18 respectively.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced most schools across all levels to adopt various ways of ensuring teaching and learning in compliance with the ban on social gatherings.

The Minister who was speaking in an interview on Accra based GhOne Television and Monitored by BestNewsGH.com said “There is no public school that is conducting any exams online.”

He added that “some universities in rolling out their virtual learning are doing continuous assessment and the only university that was advanced in that was KNUST and even for them we will have to assess the system if it happened or students were left out of the program.”
