The Brong Ahafo Regional Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe otherwise known as Abronye DC has berated the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for choosing the same national executives whose abysmal performance in the 2016 elections led to the party’s loss of political power.

He is of the view that the party delegates did the NDC a great disservice by retaining all the people who had one role or the other to play in the last elections and wondered how they expect to win the 2020 elections.

Abronye DC is even more shocked that there appears to be not even a single person among the newly elected executives that can be called ‘new’, saying the decision to retain the ‘old guards’ is very good omen for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), going into election 2020.

He also had some harsh and unpalatable words for the immediate past Northern Regional Chairman of the NDC, Sofo Azorka, who has been elevated to the position of 1st national vice chairman.

According to him, the NPP walloped the NDC in the Northern Region during the 2016 elections when Mr. Azorka was Regional Chairman.

“Sofo Azorka was Regional Chairman when NPP moved from 33 percent to 45 percent. So the NDC itself if you take away their weak political debates, they are not intelligent, common calculations they can’t do. They say the current crop of leaders are the best but it was under Sofo Azorka’s leadership in Northern Region that the NPP increased our parliamentary seats from 11 to 14. So what work was Sofo Azorka supposed to do that he didn’t do? he quizzed.

Abronye DC is of the conviction that the NDC has lost focus and will suffer a big humiliation in the hands of the ruling NPP again in the 2020 elections.
