Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate hopeful and former deputy Minister for Finance, Kweku Rickettes Hagan says he opted out of the race because the winner has been determined already.
According to the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, the party’s National leadership have shown bias by making it public that they prefer former president John Dramani Mahama to any other candidate, a key reason why he decided to bow out.
He said some of the delegates during his tour of the various regions and constituencies also made it clear that they preferred the former president and told him (Ricketts Hagan) to wait as it was not his time yet.
‘’I have been all over the place and even the delegates are rooting for Mahama. They tell me honourable, please you have to wait because it is not your time yet. We want Mahama to go, so after that we will consider you’’ he noted on Accra based okay Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com
Mr. Hagan says he has taken a cue from the observations he has made and that informed his decision to bow out of the race saying ‘’I leave that fight for another day’’.
