The Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia has on behalf of her not-for-profit organization, the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP), gone to the rescue of widows in Savelugu and other communities in the Northern Region.

She donated relief items including cloths, beverages and drinks as well as some consumables to 300 widows from the Savelugu, Sagnarigu, Kumbungu, Tolon and Yongduni communities, all in the Northern Region.

These widows had their only source of livelihood, mainly their farmlands, destroyed by this year’s torrential rainfall.

The floods from the Bagre Dam spillage, further, worsened their plight, eliciting the attention of the second lady and her organization to go to their rescue with the items to bring some relief to the women.

‘’I hope we are all inspired to be generous and show compassion to the less fortunate during this festive season and beyond’’ the second lady opined.
