Mobile Telecommunications giant, MTN has assured customers of its unhindered commitment to them as it earmarks a whopping 160 Million Dollars for upgrading and expansion of its network in 2019.

According to the company, it is such drive to ensure that commitment is well delivered that motivated it to christen the year 2019, the year of the Customer.

Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh addressing guests at a customer soiree in the Western Regional Capital, Takoradi, said the company is not oblivious of the fast-moving nature of the industry with the attendant constant change in customer demands.

According to him, having taken note of this development, MTN will continue to be innovative in order to give customers the best experience.

He said ‘’Indeed, in this region, we are building 24 new 2G/3G sites and 39 new 4G/4G+ sites. The 4G+ technology is to ensure high data capacity and speeds to meet the ever increasing bandwidth needs of our cherished customers. Our 4G+ and Fiber to the home/business rollout are all enablers of faster data services. The MTN TurboNet device which was also recently introduced has received excellent reviews by users in 4G areas. If you are living in a community connected with 4G service, you should try it’’.

Mr. Adadevoh continued that ‘’ In spite of all these investments, we face a lot of challenges with cuts in our fiber and this region happens to be one with the highest cuts. As the road works continue we use this medium to appeal to road contractors to contact us to relocate our fiber before they start digging. We really need the cooperation of those responsible for road constructions in this country’’.

The MTN CEO also catalogued some investments the company has made in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Western Region.

‘’In the area of CSR we have invested a lot in this region and MTN invested GHS 372,196.00 into the commissioning of a fully furnished E-Library at the Takoradi Technical University. Our blood donation exercise also raised blood for the regional hospital. We are motivated to do more than this. Our aim is to surpass your expectations and to provide a distinct experience, whilst at the same time inspiring and brightening the communities in which we operate’’ he said.

Prince Owusu Nyarko, Regional Senior Manager for South-West Business District of MTN in his welcome address said ‘’It is always a delight to host our valued customers and interact with you during these sessions. This is where we get to engage our fun loving customers in the Western Region in an informal set up.  We are more excited when we make our customer’s lives a whole brighter through our innovative products, services and initiatives such as this Y’ello Soiree’’
