Miss Ghana 2019: Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de Leon arrives in Ghana ahead Finale

Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon has arrived in Ghana to grace this year’s Miss Ghana finale slated for Saturday, July 6, 2019.

The world reigning queen came to Ghana on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, with her team comprising the Chairwoman of Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley.

The visit forms part of efforts to support the Miss Ghana brand and Miss Ghana Foundation on its social intervention projects.

Northern Region and health-help cover cost of surgery for children suffering from scoliosis at the FOCOS Hospital.

These projects include the educational project at Don Bosco Technical and Vocational Training Institute in Ashaiman, provision of water project in Nabui in the Gushegu District of the Norhern Region and health-help cover cost of surgery for children suffering from scoliosisat the FOCOS Hospital.

In an interview with Citi News, Vanessa said she was happy to be part of this year’s Miss Ghana ceremony and was ready to support the cause.

“I have been told that the level of Miss Ghana has been elevated and all these girls are just committed to their causes. They are intelligent, they have careers. They have been preparing for many months. So expect a good competition,” she said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Exclusive Events Ghana, Inna Mariam patty also stated that this year’s edition of the pageant promises to be an improved version of previous ones.

“When it comes to talent, this year you will be wowed. Indeed Ghanaian women are very talented and when it comes to performances we’ve got original ‘Made in Ghana’ man Okyeame Kwame, leading the pack,” Inna noted.

Also present at the Kotoka International Airport to welcome Miss World 2018 was the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture who announced government’s support for the Miss Ghana beauty pageant.

The 2019 Miss Ghana pageant will be held on Saturday at Kempinski Gold Cost Accra City Hotel.
