May Day 2020: VP Bawumia congratulates Ghanaian workers

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the generality of Ghanaian workers for their contribution to the development of the country, as the world marks International Workers’ Day.

The Vice President eulogized Ghanaian workers for their hard work and patriotic contributions towards the development of the country.

A post on his Facebook Page sighted by BestNewsGH.com read that ‘’On the occasion of Workers’ Day, I congratulate Ghanaian workers for their hard work and patriotic contributions towards the development of our country. God bless our workers. God bless our homeland Ghana.’’

May Day, the 1st of May every year is set aside to celebrate workers across the globe. It is a public holiday set aside to recognize the contribution of workers.

In Ghana, May Day celebrations are always marked by parades and messages from the President and the Trades Union Congress (TUC).

This year, the celebrations have been cancelled because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the ban on social gatherings.
