Dr. Daniel McKorley, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies has urged the generality of the Ghanaian people to use the Holy Period of Easter to pray for Ghana’s victory in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, if Easter stands for the victory of Christ Jesus over death, it means that his Children and the land he has blessed can tap into the same victory and get healed.
BestNewsGH.com reports Dr. McKorley as positing that even though government is doing all it can to mitigate the situation and proffer a panacea to the pandemic, the generality of the Ghanaian people must activate their spirituality during this period in the quest to find a solution.
‘’It is unfortunate that we have to celebrate this year’s Easter amid this deadly pandemic which is threatening our very existence as a people. But I believe all hope is not lost. We have the chance to make use of the occasion of the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, to seek peace and healing upon the land. The time has come for us to activate our spirituality and call on God to rescue our dear country.’’ he said in his Easter message to Ghanaians.
Dr. McKorley who has been at the forefront of fighting the pandemic through various initiatives including the distribution of tens of thousands of gallons of hand sanitizers across the country, extolled well-to-do Ghanaians to reach out to the less privileged, poor and vulnerable in society as the country continues to observe the partial lockdown announced by government.
‘’We all have a role to play because we are fighting a common enemy. The lockdown is affecting many of us, but those that will be affected most are the daily wage earners, because they can’t step out to work and feed. So no matter how little you can give, it will be important to do so, particularly in this Easter period. We have to have each others’ back in these crucial times.’’ He added.
