BestNewsGH.com is told the tenants were at a loss at to why the landlord will make such a move when efforts are being made to get government to impress upon landlords to allow tenants stay for free fot 3 months because of the virus.

Many Kenyans argue that they risk losing their jobs and incomes if something is not done and there is therefore the need for government to institute measures that will support them.

The Residential Landlords Association in Kenya has directed its members to allow affected tenants to pay their rents later, even though others seem to prefer a more radical approach.

A Professor of practice in international Political economy at the City University of London and the author of the Tax Research blog has called for tenants to be given a 3 month rent-free deal.

His reason is that the Coronavirus crisis will would create a major cash flow problem, demanding that action be taken to keep people in their homes.
