The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has been accused of allegedly being the brain behind the numerous kidnapping and arson attacks on some state installations.
Suspects picked up by the police for these offenses have mentioned the name of the NDC chairman as the mastermind behind their operations with the main aim of distabilising the country.
The Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in a letter dated May 8 2019 and signed by the Director-General, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah inviting Mr. Ofosu Ampofo for questioning read in part that ‘’some of the persons picked up for interrogation and investigation have mentioned your name as part of a grand scheme designed to cause fear and panic in the country’’.
According the statement, Mr. Ampofo is expected to report to the police CID tomorrow, May 9, 2019 at 2pm.
