The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is billed to announce its decision on the way forward for the impending by-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on Wednesday December 19 2018.

The by-election has been occasioned by the death of the NPP Member of Parliament for the constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko

General Secretary of the party, John Boadu speaking in an interview on Accra based okay Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com noted that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party will meet on Wednesday to decide on the way forward and also put in the public domain, any decision they arrive at.

The meeting he explained will consider whether to conduct primaries to elect a candidate or to appoint a candidate for the by-election which date is yet to be fixed by the electoral commission.

According to him, the dynamics of the constituency favours the ruling New Patriotic Party given the fact that the area which is predominantly elite, has for a very long time now consistently been for the party, adding that the quest for the NPP to retain the seat is non-negotiable.

Mr. Boadu therefore urged the party leadership, members and supporters in the constituency to exercise restraint while the national leadership takes a decision that will favour the entire party and the constituency.

He also condemned the action taken by some party members in the constituency who marched to the party headquarters in support of one of the widows of the late MP, demanding that she be elected to contest the seat in the by-election.
