Just in: Nigeria’s Vice President survives helicopter crush while on campaign tour

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has survived a helicopter crush while on a campaign tour in the lead up to the country’s presidential elections, slated for February 19, 2019.

The Vice president’s chopper according his aide, Laolu Akande crush landed in Kabba, near Kogi State, adding that the entire crew accompanying the Vice President is safe.

Even though somewhat traumatised by the incident, Prof. Osinbajo according Mr. Akande is continuing with his campaign engagements and planned schedules in Kogi State.

The Vice President is partnering his boss, President Muhamadu Buhari in the elections on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and will be facing stiff competition from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr. Abubakar has selected Dr. Peter Obi as his running mate.

Political watchers have described the elections as too close to call.
