Daniel Okyem Aboagye, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency in the Ashanti Region has justified why he allegedly knelt before the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party and begged to be allowed to contest the 2020 election unopposed.

BestNewsGH.com monitored an interview granted by the Bantama legislator on Accra based Starr Fm in which he averred that even president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo begged for power from Ghanaians when he was seeking to be elected.

Mr. Okyem Aboagye has come under public ridicule and is being mocked by sections of the public for condocending so low, as to kneel down to beg the party chairman to be allowed to go unopposed.

He said “The president when he was coming to power, he begged Ghanaians for the power so if I also do it, there is nothing wrong with it. I asked them to consider me for four more years.’’

Mr. Okyem Aboagye is facing a stiff contest from Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso Boakye who is lacing his boots to contest the party’s primaries in that constituency.

The legislator’s plea according to BestNewsGH.com sources is targeted at the deputy chief of staff, with the view to stopping him from challenging him at the primaries.
