The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) Constituency, the Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has taken a dig at Actor turned Politician, John Dumelo, who is the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the constituency in the 2020 elections.

According to Mama Lydia as the MP is popularly known, she is a grassroots politician and does not campaign on social media, where many people have no votes in her constituency.

Mr. Dumelo has been very loud on social media, announcing various packages for the constituents while vigorously campaigning to unseat the incumbent Mama Lydia.

But speaking on Accra based Asempa Fm and monitored by BestNewsGH.com, the Hon. Lydia Alhassan averred that “I’m a grassroots person so I don’t go on social media because most of the people who like your post don’t even vote in the constituency,”

According to her, the assertion by Mr. Dumelo that he was going to give her a run for her money and eventually win the seat for the NDC was just wishful thinking.

BestNewsGH.com reports her as explaining that the AWW seat has been an NPP seat from day one and the party will not lose grip of it with her as the MP.

She says she remains the people’s choice and will do all she can, including fulfilling her promises to the constituents.
