The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, is suggesting that perhaps, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) David Asante Appeatu is ‘fighting’ the Member of Parliament for Asutifi South Constituency, Collins Dauda because of a woman.
. The Inspector General of Police, early this week dispatched some armed policemen to arrest the NDC legislator with regards to an altercation between some youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition NDC.
The incident occurred in the constituency at a registration centre during the just ended limited voter registration exercise.
Mr. Dauda who reported to the police headquarters was charged with abetment of assault and released on bail.
But commenting on the matter, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah said “I don’t know if Asante-Apeatu (IGP) and Collins Dauda have been fighting over one woman. Because whenever the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in power, he arrests Collins Dauda.”
It is not too clear if Asiedu Nketiah intended his comments as a joke.
