“I don’t wake up today expecting my tomorrow to be better than my yesterday. I always wake up to have this belief that my tomorrow is going to be tough; so I face the world with that kind of mindset. But if it happens to be good, I say hallelujah to God. So this is what my background has taught me. I don’t have to expect any free lunch”.

Those are the inspirational words of the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group, Dr. Daniel McKorley.

Dr. McKorley who was speaking on the Executive Lounge on Accra based Joy TV believes developing a tough approach and mentality in a very competitive atmosphere is crucial to achieving success.

He said ‘’ “You must have the instinct to survive no matter what it takes…I have learnt not to complain. Till now I don’t complain. I am never petty. Who do you complain to? So my past has really built me up with this kind of tenacity”.

The multiple award-winning Business Mogul has been at the forefront of motivating, promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth in Ghana.

He is the brain behind the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge in which scores of youth in the country are competitively selected, trained, coached and groomed for the business sector in the country.

Every year, he gives out 100 thousand United States Dollars to young people who excel at the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge to aid them fund their projects.

Dr. McKorley has also instituted several projects including scholarships to support students across various levels of study.

He also has a Foundation that deals basically with everything education, apart from constructing classroom blocks, donating furniture and other infrastructure to various schools across the country.

His philanthropic deeds across the length and breadth of the country are no secret as he is always on hand to support those in need.

He has a soft spot for the people of the North as he has and continues to champion a lot of developmental projects in the Northern Region where he has been enkinned as a chief.
