Management of Ghana Cocobod has rubbished media reports that its board chairman Hackman Owusu Agyeman pocketed some money that was given to him as per diem for a programme abroad.
According to Cocobod, Mr. Owusu returned the said money in full after he fell ill and failed to attend the programme.
‘’The allegation that Hon. Hackman Owusu-Agyemang “pocketed” some per diem for a trip he did not embark upon is completely false. He was indeed scheduled to attend a programme on Corporate Governance and Leadership outside the country; for which per diem was issued to him’’ a statement issued by the board said.
The statement continued ‘’ unfortunately due to ill-health, Hon. Owusu-Agyemang was not able to attend the programme. He, therefore, returned the full sum of money issued to him as per diem to the Solicitor Secretary from whom he received the money in the first place’’.
The management said the programme was organized for board members and senior executives of corporations and organisations across the world with attendees including Chief Executives and board members of some statutory corporations from Ghana and several countries.
