Gov’t to give football clubs who qualify for CAF competitions 200 thousand dollar support

Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports will support Football Clubs in the country that qualify to the group stage of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) champions league.

A statement under the hand of the sector Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah said for teams that qualify to the group stage, the Ministry would offer a support package of 200 thousand dollars, while those who make it to the Confederations cup competition gets a 150 thousand dollar support package.

The statement explained that ‘’the gesture government believes would go a long way to financially cushion the Football clubs in their bid to bring honour to the country, while encouraging them to attain excellence in continental competitions.
