Gov’t releases 14 million Cedis to clear allowances of GES Staff for 2013 to 2016

Government has released an amount of Fourteen Million, One Hundred and Seventy Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Thirteen Ghana Cedis twenty three pesewas for the payment of outstanding transfer grants and other allowances of staff of the Ghana Education Service.

A letter signed by the Minister for Finance Ken Ofori-Atta and addressed to the Controller and Accountant General stated that the money should be released to the Minister for education for the above purpose.

It says the amount covers the period January 2013 through to December 2016.

The amount according to the letter should be charged to the compensation of employees vote for the Ministry of education.
