Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated government’s commitment to the implementation of its industrial agenda with the view to transforming the Ghanaian economy.

As a way of achieving this objective, government will continue to offer incentives to local industries as those offered to foreign companies who wish to establish shops in Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia who gave the keynote address at the opening ceremony for the ongoing Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre, re-affirmed government’s agenda of initiating industry-tailored policies and programmes to be implemented with a view to ensuring that newly revived companies not only find their feet and contribute to national development, but feed into the overall plan for increased value-addition to ensure greater earnings.

‘’Parliament passed a law to establish the Ghana Integrated Bauxite and Aluminium Development Cooperation , in order to build a complete value chain for the mining, refining, and smelting of Ghana’s bauxite in order to ensure value addition’’ the vice president opined.

He also announced the revival of the Akosombo textiles company which has zoomed back into operation adding ‘’ we will continue to engage our local industries to ensure they also receive the incentives and the necessary enabling environment for them to thrive’’
