The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has come under fire from some of its members for what they describe as profligate spending by its leadership.

The Association has been accused of spending some 15 Million Ghana Cedis on the Salaries of some 200 staff across the country in 2018 alone.

Per the figure, it means each Member of staff took home 6,250 Ghana Cedis per month or 75 thousand Ghana Cedis for 2018.

The figures are captured in the 2018/2019 budget statement of GNAT.

Bismark Kobina Ebo Yankson, a GNAT member who is disgruntled about the absolute rip off of their funds by the leadership of the Association said he and his other aggrieved colleagues will do all they can to ensure that those responsible for such obnoxious spending are brought to book.

According to him, they will come out with more damning revelations about the reckless manner in which their monies are being spent by the leadership of the Association, adding that they are engaged in various corrupt practices that have the tendency to collapse the Association.
