GhiPSS ready to support gov’t e-payment agenda

The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) has said it is ready to provide a wide range of payment services for the public sector payment system for all government projects.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has earlier indicated that government projects will all paid through electronic means by the middle of next year to track payments in the public sector.

Speaking to Citi Business News, the CEO of GhIPSS, Archie Hesse maintained that GhIPSS is ready to support the initiative when it is rolled out.

“As a national payment infrastructure organization in the country, GHIPPS will play a major role. In terms of the plan, coordination, etc, it’s being spearheaded by the Vice President’s office.

We will do everything to support by providing a wide range of payment services that will support and underpin whatever they will require to do,” he said.
