The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has likened Ghana to a banana republic where lawlessness, contract killing, serial killing, injustice and politicians living above the law have become pervasive.

Ardent member and supporter of the NDC, Abraham Boafo who says he is a citizen of the newly created Oti Region alleges that the recent murders and kidnappings are the handiwork of the youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who feel they have been deceived by the political elite in the party and are now jobless, hence engaging in these cruel and lawless acts to survive.

‘’The disgruntled, deceived and disappointed NPP serial callers, youths and footsoldiers can possibly engage in such reckless acts in other to survive, since their own party in power refused and also failed to legally find them survival means’’ he stated in a write-up on the state of what he says is insecurity in the country.

In his estimation, the NDC is poised for a comeback in 2020 and that the party must learn from current happenings in the country under the NPP, arguing that if the party fails to take care of the youth, a similar situation may arise when the NDC returns to power.

‘’If the next NDC government should reject and neglect the youth as it has done before and the NPP is also doing now, leading to the high state of insecurity in the country, then it may take this country far to be able to curb the ongoing political vigilantism and hooliganism’’ he opined further.

He added ‘’ I’m assuring journalists, and the entire Ghanaian people that, the NDC John Dramani Mahama led NDC administration which is obviously 2020 will protect everyone in this country against any form of internal and external aggressions’’.
