Geneva: Samira Bawumia courts UNAIDS support for Ghana and SEHP

The second lady, Mrs. Samira Bawumia has met with the Ag. Deputy Executive Director of the the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) who is also the  Director, Fast Track Implementation of Programmes Tim Martineau and his team at the UNAIDS Headquarters in Geneva.

The second lady who paid a visit to the UNAIDS headquarters Wednesday, October 31 2018 discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest to the UNAIDS, Ghana and the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP).

They also discussed Ghana’s progress and challenges as far as the HIV/AIDS disease is concerned and possible effective collaboration with the Samira Humanitarian Projects in an effort to support moves at stemming the disease.

Mrs. Bawumia expressed optimism that with greater collaboration and a determination to help bring the disease under control, the objectives of both the UNAIDS and SEHP will be achieved.

Mr. Tim Martineau on behalf of his team expressed their gratitude to the second lady and her team for taking time off to visit, and assured that they were willing and ready to support the SEHP initiative to offer support to the needy and empower society through their numerous initiatives.
