Even the president cannot stop me from chasing Togbe Afede out as NIB board Chairman-Ken Agyapong

Firebrand ruling New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has indicated in the strongest terms yet, that he will stop at nothing to see to the removal of Togbe Afede as board chairman of the National Investment Bank, (NIB).

According to him, even though president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo sometimes call him to order on certain issues, he will not oblige the president on the Togbe Afede matter should he call him to back down.

‘’No name will intimidate me in this country except the president, whom I respect and when he calls me then I stop. But on this Togbe Afede issue if he calls me I won’t stop.’’

Mr. Agyapong who also doubles as businessman is lampooning the revered traditional leader who is also a businessman for running down the National Investment Bank as Board chairman, and went ahead to fault the president and the Minister of Finance for retaining him as board chairman.

The politician cum businessman who flaunted several documents in relation to banking transactions by the former Managing Director of the bank, Ernest Agbesi, disclosed how the former MD under the supervision of Togbe Afede fraudulently withdrew monies from the bank’s accounts for personal gain and without recourse to laid down procedures.

He also accused the duo of investing the bank’s monies in microfinance businesses and other banks which has not yielded any profits for NIB.
