President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today, Thursday, February 20, 2020, filed his nomination to contest the 2020 elections as the Presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The president who delivered the State of the Nation Address earlier today, moved straight to the Asylum Down Headquarters of the NPP to file his nomination.
BestNewsGH.com can report that the President has declared that his second term bid will be complimented by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as running mate.
BestNewsGH.com reports president Akufo-Addo as saying “Our party rules demand that you need to choose a vice-presidential nominee as soon as you are declared a flagbearer. This is not something we need to think so much about. As soon as I am declared as flagbearer, I am going with this same man. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the same man I’m running with. Still maintained, not changed.’’
President Akufo-Addo as at the close of nomination last month, was the sole candidate and will be endorsed by popular acclamation on April 25.
